Cold water sterilising question

Hoping someone can clarify. I’ve got Dr Browns bottles and am using Milton to sterilise them. This is fine at home as I just grab one out of the milton when I need it. However i’m wondering what to do if I go out for the day and need to take bottles, as the soloution seems to say it only stays sterile when in the water?

If I take a bottle out and assemble it is it still sterile to take out for the day? I would use ready made formula when out so would just need to pour it into the bottle when needed. Is this ok? Sorry if it’s a silly question!

Yes it will be fine for the day. You don't need the bottles to remain completely sterile, sterilising is done to remove any of the bacteria that could remain after washing. Assembling empty bottles for use over the day is fine.

I agree with @Bluebelltulip, assembling a bottle to use later in the day will be fine.

I use a cold water steriliser and I do my bottles in batches; I'll assemble 4 or 5 bottles from the steriliser in one go. I just put the 'new' ones at the back of the shelf so that the oldest ones get used first.

Thanks both, this is good to know!
