Could it be an ear infection?

Hi all, hoping for some advice as I can't get through to hv or gp!

My ds is 10 months and the last couple of nights his sleep has been terrible (even for him!) he doesn't seem hungry, just needing lots of comfort. I put it down to teething because he's been chewing loads and his cheek is very pink. But today I've noticed he keeps tilting his head to one side (like he's trying to rub his ear on his shoulder if that makes sense?) and seems a bit off balance.

Could it be an ear infection and if so, do I keep an eye and see how he goes, give calpol etc or should I try to see a gp or something? He's unsettled but not massively.

Thanks!

He's had a bit of a cough and snuffly nose too but these seem to be clearing up.

It’s more likely to be teething. Nurofen and anbesol liquid are best for teething. NHS says if he is still showing signs of a painful ear after 5 days then he should be seen by a GP.
