DS very clingy to me at bedtime

DS turned 2 in August. I am a SAHM with him so we spend a lot of time together. Recently he has starting being very clingy towards me when it comes to bath and bed time. He doesn't want DH to do these things and gets very upset if he realises I am not going to be putting him to bed. Previously DH has done bed time with no bother at all, it has been the last month or so the clinginess has started. I'm 32 weeks pregnant so am trying to step back a bit in order to manage his expectations for when baby is here. It's just very hard when he throws a huge tantrum or worse just pathetically cries "mama" whilst I sit out of sight on my hands resisting going to help. I feel rotten for DH too.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get through this? I have offered to go stay away in a 5* hotel for a night or too so DH and DS can have some quality time, but for some reason DH doesn't feel its necessary to go that far!

It's fairly normal and may be exacerbated by your pregnancy. I have been through this multiple times with DS1.

Persevere, the best solution is more DH time, hard though it is.

Could DH find other ways to get 121 time e.g. take him to the park on Saturday morning, read a story before you finish bedtime? Give him
Supper? Bath?
