Large blisters on toddler

Can anyone help identifying these blisters on my three year olds upper arm and back. He woke up this morning with 8 of them. I originally thought chicken pox, especially as he was really 'off' last week. But they are clumped in one area and seem big for CP.

Flea bites? Do you have pets?

bananajelly · 27/10/2020 14:08

We do have cats, but we regularly administer flea drops.

Also they look more like blisters rather than flea bites.

CV19 presents as a rash in children sometimes.

They look a lot like bites to me but if they are more blisterish I wouldn’t rule out CP. It definitely can cause bigger spots/blisters.

MrsMyrtle · 27/10/2020 14:14

I'm afraid they look exactly like bed bug bites to me!

bananajelly · 27/10/2020 14:19

Oh blimey, bed bugs?! Thank you I will go and search his room Confused

They look like bites to me OP. Sometimes bites can have a white centre that makes them look like blisters IME. Are they itchy?

bananajelly · 27/10/2020 14:38

No he hasn't itched or even complained about them.

Searched his room & bed with a torch on my hands and knees and can't find anything at all. How odd. I'm so confused. Thank you all for your reply's, I'll keep my eye out x

They look like chicken pox to me. DN had it just like this - almost a shingles presentation over just his shoulder and arm and not itchy at all. Bites would have a white centre and I can’t see that. Bed bug bites would also be everywhere.

bananajelly · 27/10/2020 14:52

No bite marks in the centre, literally just large red blisters Confused

Bed bugs was my first thought...is he scratching at them?

TheBoots · 27/10/2020 15:14

Sorry cross-post! If they're not itching then it's probably not a bite.
