Child maintenance- how much do you receieve?

I know the answer to this varies but just looking for an average of how much you receieve from the other parent if you are the parent with the main responsibility for the child?
My ex has never paid me regularly for my now 13yr old and doesnt see him much more than 5-6 times a year (has been nearly 5 months since he last saw him) which is all down to my ex, he has never been stopped from seeing him he just has no interest.
I don't chase him for money because 1. I dont want to encourage him to see DC as he is a bad influence (regularly drinks and has driven with DC in the car with him, the language he uses around him etc) and 2. Although ive mostly been living alone as a single parent until recent years, i work and havent struggled for money as of yet. But its getting to a point where i am regularly going into my overdraft to survive month to month.
I don't know his income and there is no way he would tell me if i asked, he works so at least recieves minimum wage, but he has been in this job a while so im sure its much more than minumum and he regularly does overtime too. He has another DC that he also pays maintenence for and this used to be £60 a month to me and the other childs mum when he felt like it.
£60 a month i know isnt enough but im unsure of how much to ask of him, i know every circumstance is different but based on what you know what would you say is an average minimum he should pay?
I've been reluctant to get CSA involved as i have asked their advice before and been told to sort it myself but if i can't get a regular payment from him this time i will seek their advice again.

CMS is so different now, I found them to be great when my personal arrangement was getting troublesome as he wouldn't tell me how much he earned. They were very quick, took about 6 weeks. Mine is on £40+k with another child he doesn't see and I get £280 a month. Better than a kick in the teeth.

I found cms shockingly incompetent, I receive no money havent for years, they also wiped the arrears my ex owed off of my case calling it historical debt even though my children were both under the age of 10, its utterly disgusting.
Luckily I can provide a nice life for my kids financially but there are many who can't.
There are petitions and groups pushing for a change, google will show you how millions are owed to children from NRPs.

If your ex is very willing to provide and will pay and you are persistent in ringing up and pushing them along you will be ok, if you have a dodger they wont be able to do anything.
There are many loopholes in the system nrps exploit to get out of paying that need changing.
