Temperature with teething?

Nearly 2 year old just stopped antibiotics for a chest infection (with temperature of 41.4) he's been fine but tonight his temperature is 39 no other symptoms this time but flushed cheeks, could it "just" be back teeth?

I’ve been told temperatures with teething are a bit of a myth. It’s more likely the same bug - definitely keep an eye on it & maybe speak to doc if it continues.

Temperature up and down all night, down by morning and stable all day, he's got a stinking cold!

That is really really high. I think you should seek medical advice again

It's not gone above 37 since 7am, he is still warm and if it goes any higher I'll phone 111

39c is a very high temperature. I don’t think that can be teething. When people talk about a temperature with teething they mean a sightly raised temperature eg 37.5c not a fever.

He's generally a "hot" baby his normal temperature is 37 i was out of my mind when it hit 40/41 but 2 on call gp's were not that concerned 😧

It only lasted a few hours otherwise I would have taken him to A&E regardless of what the on call team said

Just to update we were seen on Tuesday afternoon in the end his temperature kept going up and down I was really worried, after a thorough examination he's got a viral infection and possible asthma, he's made good progress on inhalers

Excuse me?
Teething causing a temp.

Personal experience with my 2 year old is that she gets a terrible cold with temp every time she cuts a tooth, other than that no pain or other symptoms!
So there's some truth to it for us!
Glad you're son Is making progress with inhalers & hope he's better soon 😊

DS gets 39 degree temps when teething. But they are temporary (start day before tooth emerges and end as soon as it has) and will respond to Calpol. As your DC was on antibiotics I would check with your GP just to be on the safe side.
