Baby carriers and what to dress baby in

What do you dress your baby in when using a baby carrier?
My little one is nearly 5 months old and we have a baby bjorn carrier, so his legs dangle out of the bottom.
Sock don't stay on his feet (surprise surprise 😂), nor do the pram shoes I've bought him so I'm worried about what to put him in to keep his feet warm?
Would you dress in vest and baby grow then put coat and hat on?
Any advice please

Tights are very useful in baby carriers.

I used to put baby in a baby gro as base layer so their feet were covered, then cardigan or coat and hat depending on how cold it was. Or use really big socks so they went up to their knees and were kept on by trousers.

Otherwise you could get a maternity coat or baby carrier cover to go over the top?

I got these. The velcro at the top means you can do them up tight enough so they dont fall off. Socks underneath.

I tend to dress my baby in day clothes and leave the baby grows as night time wear. So generally its leggings, long sleeved vest, chunky cardigan. Hat if its cold enough. If its REALLY cold I have a snowsuit, but its only been cold enough for that once so far.

Do you find that as baby is so close to you they benefit a bit from your body heat?

I should say I have a 7 month old and we go out every day using a ergo 360 sling.

Socks under baby gro or longer socks tucked over trousers (great look!). Depends on how cold it is as to whether I'd put a cardi/coat on - I have a couple of big coats so could fasten them round the two of us when it was really cold.

Do these Velcro fasten shoes/booties stay on really well then?

They do with my boy!

I use a tuppence and crumble star blanket just put it on over clothes and off you go my baby much prefers it to hats and coat and keeps their feet toasty. Iv had so much use out of it was a great gift!

You can get fleecy trousers with feet that we put over our then-newborn's sleepsuit and extra socks last winter. I also wrapped a big scarf around us both. Definitely a hat, but I read it's usually too hot for them to wear a big coat too, as they have the carrier plus you for extra warmth.

Short sleeve vest, long sleeve vest, trousers/dungarees (tucked into socks), cardi, hat. I can get my coat zipped up to around his bum so he's nice and snuggly in there. It would be far too warm to put him in his coat as well.

I also used a tuppance and crumble star blanket on cold days, although my dd is quite long in the leg so I did have to size up early. I also found those moccasins you can get with socks attached helped to keep her feet warm if it was too hot for a blanket.

I use these jojo maman slippers/ shoes they come really high up leg and are quite stretchy. Also really good for after swimming X

A bundle bean is great to keep them warm when out and about!
Not to be 'that person' but I had a baby Bjorn carrier then learned they aren't great as they aren't designed to carry a child in a hip healthy position. I bought a boba x which I have found brilliant since changing.

Leggings with feet in or sleepsuits are good, as long as you make sure they aren't snug fitting so that they don't end up too tight when you get baby into the M/healthy hip position.

I use inch blue shoes. Even the smallest size was huge to begin with on my small baby but they have never fallen off. They are very well designed
