NR Dad moved away now wants money

Non-resident father, moved down south with us briefly, then moved back up north... now wants me to contribute towards his travel costs.

Have no documents that he did live with us, but I do have text conversations admitting he did live with us and that he moved back up north.

Will I have to pay towards the travel expenses?

Depends, had you already broken up when he moved south and did you all previously live where he has returned to?

We never lived together up north (different cities). But we all did move down south together, then broke up shortly after he returned back to his old address.

@ivykaty44 I was wondering that too, my ex never got a reduction for travel.

They can ask for a variation, but it doesn't 'come out' of maintenance as such. Their earnings are reduced by the cost of travel if it is above a threshold (£10 a week I believe).
