Bloody Dummies!

I need to get rid of my 2.5 year old DS's dummies. They are driving me insane. He wants them at random times of the day now (whereas before it was just bedtime) and if I don't give in a full meltdown begins...
I just want to get rid of them so I am thinking of the dummy fairy tactic?
Collect them all together and make it exciting explaining they are going to the babies and that the dummy fairy will take them and leave him a gift in return?

Any advice or experience on this?

Thank you !

Yes, make sure you actually chuck them directly into the wheelie bin so you can’t get them back out. My daughter was a similar ish age and it was a painful couple of nights and she wanted to give her present back but she soon managed to sleep without them.
