Best hat design for a reluctant hat wearer!

My toddler takes every hat off immediately it is put on. Has anyone found a hat style that is more acceptable to a super reluctant hat wearer?

I prefer woolly hoody jumpers, they stand some chance of staying on. My DD just chucks any hat on the ground but tolerates a hoody.

Came on to say hood - coat with a hood seems to be tolerated better than a separate hat for some reason. Otherwise we have some hats that are like a hood that tie under the chin which seem to get forgotten about pretty quickly.

My toddler hates woolly stuff and pulls it off immediately but she does tolerate a cheap hat I got from Morrison’s with very soft fleecy lining. It’s quite lightweight as well so I think she forgets about it.

Hoods are also a good suggestion. DD does sometimes keeps her hood up if she’s in the park and distracted. Other times she just pulls it straight off.

Novelty hats that tie under the chin were the only solution in this house. We got a dinosaur hat with a button under the chin from JoJo Maman Bebe that was the only one that went the distance here!

not knitted, they are not comfortable.

Fleece is good.

But mostly make sureit is not tight, and by that I mean a significant amount looser than you think.

I hate hats and I hate having my ears pinned down, so only really loose hats pass my vote!

if you really really need a hat on the toddler, then I suggets one that does up under the chin. we used to live somewhere where it was minus 15 in the day and we had hats which tied under the chin so they couldn't take them off.

Yeah they have to have fleece lining and maybe the ones that have ear flaps as they don’t seem so annoying around the head.
I can’t stand hats myself so completely sympathise when kids can’t keep them on!
Sometimes I wear ear muffs or a running head band if I’ve got cold ears.
Otherwise thankfully I don’t tend to need a hat (or a scarf)

I get driven mad with my hood up even in driving rain so I get it. I've found some fleece ear flap ones in Jojo I might try. Maybe if they are harder take off they might give up trying!
