Where do they hide their toys?

Just for fun! My little ones toys always end up under the sofa or in the kitchen cupboards, but there are a couple of toy cars I haven't been able to find in weeks... and they are definately in the house!! Where do/did your little ones hide their toys?

Always under the sofa. Or in my bed - I got in the other day and there was a small plastic goose under my pillow.

MonkeyPuddle · 19/10/2020 15:30

My son like to put his half eaten apples inside the microwave in his play kitchen. I now check it every other day.
Toys always end up under the sofa cushions. Apparently it’s where they’re safe.

niclw · 19/10/2020 21:19

Down the side of the sofa cushions.
Behind the sky box.
Behind the tv unit.
Inside other toys particularly inside the ride on car seat which had a hidden compartment.
In the washing basket.
In his wellies
Basically anywhere that I don't think of looking 😂

Inside my wellies
In the toy oven/microwave
In a bag/rucksack
Down the gap of sofa cushions
In the pillow case
Under ride on car seat

usually stashed the comforter bunny that he can't sleep without with no memory of where he'd stashed it

elQuintoConyo · 20/10/2020 11:05

If it's toast, or a sausage, it'll be in the dvd player, thanks DS Grin

Otherwise:
Shoes
Under the fridge
Behind chests of drawers
In the 10kg bag of fog food!
In the bed, down the side of the bed, under the pillow, inside the pillow cover, inside the duvet cover, inside a cuddly toy if there's a small hole (or the child has made one).
Inside pockets of coats hanging up, or dressing gowns.

Bid876 · 20/10/2020 11:41

In 2 suitcases on top of their wardrobes. I also put things in my wardrobe, usually I’m big bags so they can’t see them and my draws.

Ellingtonboots · 20/10/2020 11:50

During the summer my 1 year old played in the back garden alot and we have small gaps between the decking so once she discovered things disappear down there it became a game! There's no way of retrieving them unless they are near the edge so now its full of chalks, plastic cutlery and my tweezers went for a little trip down there too, luckily at the edge so after 3 days of looking for them i fished them out!
Inside the house the new favourite place to store things is the tumble drier!
She also hid my deodorant and a hairbrush in the bottom of her wardrobe that took me at least a week to find lol.

Kaiserin · 20/10/2020 11:51

Under the sofa
Under their bed
Behind the bookshelves
In their trousers pocket
In my coat pocket
In my handbag

Kaiserin · 20/10/2020 11:52

Oh, and absolutely everywhere in the car (all the nooks and crannies)

FatCatThinCat · 20/10/2020 11:53

Right up on top of the highest bookcases and wardrobes. He liked to throw them up and catch them when he was little but they often went up but never came back down.

Noflora · 20/10/2020 11:55

Posted behind and into the radiators. Mine are adult now but we recently had a radiator replaced, lots of small treasures.

SeaToSki · 20/10/2020 11:59

Inside other toys
Inside dvd boxes
Behind the books on the bookshelf
But mostly they would be in the bottom of a box of other things, so a car would be with all the lego, and I would swear blind that the lego box hadnt been played with since before the car toy went missing

Disappointedkoala · 20/10/2020 13:32

I found the potty in the porch this morning. Not sure why!

FriedEggOnToast · 22/10/2020 11:41

@elQuintoConyo My goodness, sausages in the dvd player!!!!! 🤔😖

😂😂 Love all these!!! I still haven't found the toy cars..... but on the plus side, I found a pair of his socks under the rug!!!

Found one in the washing machine after I'd used it this week. Pre Covid my work handbag. Also, through the letterbox and on top of the radiator had a brief but intense period of popularity!

Nobbynobbsknob · 22/10/2020 12:16

No idea but if you can help me find dds reading record I'd be grateful

FriedEggOnToast · 23/10/2020 07:45

😂😂😂
@Nobbynobbsknob Have you tried looking in all the above places? 🤔

OP posts:
Nobbynobbsknob · 23/10/2020 08:12

A new one for you.
Try looking in the middle of their siblings school books

TooMinty · 23/10/2020 08:23

I have a onsie (don't judge me!) hanging on the back of my bedroom door that I don't wear very often. There are usually toys stuffed in the legs of that.

My neighbour's toddler hid his big brother's school uniform because he didn't want him to go to school! He missed him, too cute 🥰

Juniperandrage · 23/10/2020 08:25

out the catflap!

StringyPotatoes · 23/10/2020 08:43

Inside other toys - so kiddy rucksacks/the toy kitchen/dressing up bags etc.

In the wrong toy basket (so bath toys in the soft toy basket, play food in the bath toy box)

In their clothing drawers

Under the beds/sofa/dining table

Outside in a bush/Wendy house/ride on car

In my coat pockets/handbag

In my house (I'm a nanny. They never come to my house though)

In the changing bag

Under the buggy

In the car - on the floor/behind the baby seat/ under the seats/in the crevice (that autocorrected to cervix) between door and seat

Behind the sofa/armchair

In dens they've built

In any box lying around the house

In the spare room

TooMinty · 23/10/2020 09:30

@Juniperandrage

out the catflap!

I'd forgotten this one! Really confused the cat...
