When do breastfed babies sleep through the night?

Hello all,

My son is 7.5 months old and I'm still breastfeeding. He has two or three small meals a day .

Currently he still wakes 3x a night for feeds. When will he start sleeping through? Would be lovely to get more sleep at night Smile

Fully breastfed and sleeping 6:30-6:30 from 9 months. Before that she woke once in the night for a couple months. And before that was waking twice a night for a while. I didn’t do anything special. She just started sleeping through. I did start though not rushing to her if she woke a second time. And she would just fall asleep. Then she stopped waking the second time. Then she stopped waking one time.

@mrsmonkey14

Ps. Should clarify that my version of “sleeping through the night” is 7-7.
In that case my answer is when DD was a teenager. As a small child she never needed much sleep. Sadly, now at 20, she has CFS and needs too much sleep Sad

@mrsmonkey14 thank you so much. Still on the fence about waiting to see if he just grows out of it though I'm sure there's a tipping point I'll reach soon enough!

@Ginfordinner I'm sorry.. it gives perspective. The sleeping felt so much worse until I realised it was normal. All the best to your DD

Thank you

Sleeping through my night (10-5) was from 8 weeks. Sleeping through their night (7-7) was 9 months with sleep training

@WoahHeyThere

God, these people with 2/3/4/5 year olds that still wake multiple times in the night must be actual walking zombies 😲😲😲
Ds still wakes sometimes. He's 3. He's got a cold at the moment but also has nightmares. I'm actually pretty much fine for sleep thanks. Struggled when he was waking 2 hourly and we still bf and coslept. Trying to minimise bedsharing now, not least because my back is f*ed at the moment (nothing to do with him)

Night weaned with minimal upset (as in no tears pretty much) at 21 mo. Still bedshared to do it as sending DH in did not work.
