Miracle cold remedies please?

DSs (2 and 6 months) both have colds and since going to bed this eve they have taken it in turns to wake up crying as they both have very blocked noses. I genuinely can’t see me getting any sleep tonight at all. I’ve got the calpol plug in going, I’ve just tilted the cot slightly and I’m using saline drops and snuffle baby rub. Any miracle cold remedies that I don’t know of that might just get me a little bit of sleep tonight would be very welcome.

Hope they've settled down ok OP, so hard at that age. Have you got one of those squeezy things that you insert into their nostrils to suck the snot out if needed? I know it's a bit 🤢 but might help certainly for the littler one x

@rainbowninja I think I've had about an hours sleep. Today is going to be a very long day!
I've got one of those bulb things somewhere, I never find that much comes out though. The calpol plug in always worked a treat for DS1 when he was little but it doesn't seem to work so well for DS2 unfortunately.

Might not help much with the cold symptoms op but try children's piriton, when my DD was really poorly it worked a treat in helping her sleep, I gave it about 30mins-1hr before bedtime.
Hope they're better soon and I hope you manage some sleep! Thanks

You're probably doing all this anyway (no miracle cure apart from time!) but I drape damp muslin cloths over the radiator with a generous sprinkling of albus oil. I also sprinkle a bit on her comforter for good measure.

@Ihaveoflate Thanks, I'll try that tonight as I only have one calpol plug in. 6 month old has been asleep for nearly 3 hrs this morning and just wakes up as the 2 year old goes for his nap 😂😂
