Sleeping bags with feet?

LittleLadysMama · 18/10/2020 22:40

Any mums transitioned from sleeping bags to the ones with feet and able to give any recommendations?
My first concern is size, my lo is 12 months and has been in 18-36 month sleeping bags for ages as I found the others too short, especially after a wash when they seem to shrink 🤷‍♀️
Secondly, wondering if I'm doing the right thing? My lo is starting to stand in her cot now, she can't walk yet but I'm planning this for when she can, as i imagine she get tangled up and very frustrated in a sleeping bag.
Any advice welcome! Thanks

No I never used ones with feet and ds was in his sleeping bag until he was 2½ years old

I think Jojo Maman Bebe do some with feet? But we found the others fine up until they transferred to beds. Must be tall to find that size short at 12 months? Mine were ok until 2 years old and could stand up fine without getting tangled.

We used the slumber sac with legs from early on and just added socks

If she’s happy in regular bags then I’d leave her to it. Mine decided at about 16 months that she’d yell STUCK and kick us when we tried to put her in a bag. She then refused to stay under blankets or a duvet and woke up several times a night cold. We now have to use the JoJo sleep sacks with full legs and they cost a FORTUNE.

She’s now nearly two and still in a cot and the aforementioned bag with legs. I’m not anticipating that a move to a bed/duvet will go well...

Unfortunately sleeping bags do not seem to impede my DS' ability to either stand in his cot or pace around it.

We use Ergopouch, they do sleep bags that can be turned into sleepsuits when baby is older.

My LO stands in her sleeping bag (without the feet) and even walks in it 🤣

My DD is 11 months and can walk in her sleeping bag - it has never caused frustrations. I wouldn't swap until (if) it causes problems.

OK, maybe im worrying over nothing then. I'll hang fire and see how she goes in her regular sleeping bag 🤞

Like others, the sleeping bag does nothing to stop our 20 month old from getting up and walking around his cotbed. We know people whose then 2 year old daughter managed to get down two flights of wooden stairs to see them at night in her sleeping bag....

(They then quickly transitioned to a duvet instead!)
