Breastfeeding at 13months

For those of you who exclusively breastfed- how many breastfeeds are you doing at roughly 13months?

I bf twice a day- in the morning and before bed. Although quite often end up doing a brief one at some point in the night as dd is not the best sleeper.

However on crazy mornings (working, nursery and school run) I occasionally dont have time for a morning one, but then end up feeling guilty and also worried that it will affect my supply as I was never producing loads anyway, and now with only feeding a couple of times a day I worry that just missing one will have a negative effect on how much I am currently producing.

I may well be overthinking this, but any experiences of how and how often breastfeeding is going at around the same age would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

At 13 months I was doing a morning feed and often a tea time feed, or on days I was at work I'd often not feed at all. 21 months now and after a massive increase over lockdown and a new baby we're back to the same thing.

They're all different though, at that age my niece was feeding every couple of hours still.

At 14 months but I’m a sahm. Morning, nap time and bedtime and sometimes one or two comfort feeds a day and about 3 times over night. She has multiple allergies and I struggle to get her to take any significant sources of calcium.

First thing in the morning, and before bed. Now (16 months) the pre bed feed is very small but she’s still feeding quite a bit in the morning.

I’ll feed her if she wakes in the night, but that is (thankfully) getting less and less common

Sounds like what I was doing too. My LG was in childcare by then so we were doing morning, tea time and bedtime. Possibly if she woke up in the night. We nightweaned at 16.5 months because I was pregnant and finding night feeds uncomfortable.

I think your supply is well established by now, so I wouldn't worry about missing an occasional morning feed. Smile

My lg is 2, I night weaned before I went back to work as she was waking for milk. I be about 5 times a day at home morning, after school run, nap time, after pm school run and bedtime.

Hi, I was doing 2-3 feeds at 13mo. I dropped feeds gradually and stopped completely by 16mo, she's now nearly 21 months and I still have a little milk! By now your supply is so established you don't need to worry about your supply being affected by missing the odd feed.

My DS is 13 months and he's on two feeds a day, morning and bedtime. I wouldn't worry about missing a feed sometimes, your supply is established now so it shouldn't affect it

At 13 months mine were feeding probably 8 feeds in the day and a few overnight. I've feed both of mine to full term and didn't get down to 2-3 a day till about age 3 or 4. I was completely child led though.

But it's fine to do less, it works on supply and demand say if you have a consistent number of feeds then the milk will be there, and you never fully dry up anyway - most women can make milk come even years later.

At 13 months I was down to just first thing in the morning and dropped that one too at 14 months.
