Leaving children in car (toilet issue)

RHYA · 13/10/2020 13:55

My ex was with our children and left them in the car in the street. DS (8) told me he had to do a 'number 2' in the car because he couldn't wait. We don't communicate much as he becomes unpleasant. What would you do?

Why can’t your ds hold a poo in?

During lockdown there was lots of places not allowing children in and advice on here was to leave kids outside no problem.

That’s just bad luck isn’t it? A quick Sainsbury’s trip shouldn’t be long enough for an 8 year old to have to poo themselves, so it’s very bad luck that it happened to your DS. I doubt your ex could have predicted it.

So many posts lately about 8/9 year old and toilet accidents Hmm
What advice are you looking for, exactly, given there's precious little you can do at this point?

doctorhamster · 13/10/2020 14:28

It depends how long he left them in the car for. 20
minutes fine, 2 hours not fine.

ScarMatty · 13/10/2020 14:44

All depends.

10 mins in the car, fine.

1 hour, not fun.

Must have been a long trip if your DS couldn't wait. Assuming your ex had to clean it up? He won't make that mistake again.

Tell your DS don't worry, these things happen sometimes, just try to tell dad in advance so he knows to take you... Then brush over it with him and don't embarrass DS further. If you feel your ex was neglectful, take it up with him.
