Want to take 6m bf ds swimming but frankly these don't look to me like they'd contain one of his soupy poos - anyone got any experience with this?

Or are you meant to put them over another nappy?

Not sure about the Kushies, I used the Mother Eden ones but always double nappy, the Mother Eden and the a neoprene swim nappy on top

DD had one and it did the trick no problem. I will add that we were on a beach when it happened and not in the water. I do have it on authority from a swimming teacher that babies actually never poo when in the pool . Not sure if that's a load of tosh, my DD used to poo in the bath a lot, but she told me that in her 15 yrs of teaching she never had it happen to her...

hm okay thanks that's quite helpful

couldn't imagine putting him in a cloth nappy to fill up with 90kgs of water...

It is a load of tosh, my two youngest have been swimming since 8 weeks old and have pooed in the pool, but contained in the nappy, and we have had instances when we have had to get out of the pool at a lesson as another child's nappy has leaked

hm, wonder if the other kids didn't double-up? or were using disposables? don't suppose you know?

Hum... probably depends how soupy.

Perhaps you should test it out in a deep bathful of water at home first.

curlywurlycremeegg · 12/10/2007 15:08

dispsosables!

They all have to double up, it's a rule of the swim school

SoTiredOfTheWheelsOnTheBus · 13/10/2007 12:43

I started doubling-up with my ds because he was a bit small for the lower weight ranges in the swim nappies, so I used a disposable one underneath, then a kushies over the top. Have not had any problems so far (but he hasn't pooed whilst in the pool anyway)
