Year 3 girls fallout

This is the 1st time I've been involved as a parent with little girls being mean & nasty to each other & defo won't be the last! However, that didn't make it any easier to handle when I got phone call from 'said' victims mother this evening! What makes it worse is that me & her mum are meant to be mates & there she was ranting off at me tonight about how my dd was being mean to hers! I confronted my dd who then got v.upset & cried for 2 hours! Don't really know how to handle play ground tomorrow - hate these situations

I know how hard things like this can be, and lets face it, girls seem to be worse than boys too? My eldest charge has been on the receiving end of a number of episodes at school, and we've been quite quick to nip it in the bud!
The best thing to do is try and hold your head up high, and explain to your daughter how important it is to consider other childrens feelings.
I'm not saying she was totally to blame for whatever happened, as i don't know the details, but it's a good lesson i guess.

These situations are a nightmare - you never get the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth from any of the parties involved and the instinct to leap to the rescue of your apparently injured innocent is strong.

If you and the other mother and both girls could get together to discuss it, you might get a better idea of what went on from the accusations and counter-accusations that will fly...IME it's never clear-cut.
