Hi! My son is turning one soon and I’m interested to see what people who prefer to avoid cows milk are giving their babies once they stop breast / formula feeding??

Alpro growing up milk - my two love it

There is a chart of alternative milks which show them in nutritional content order, Im pretty sure soya milk is the best, but I'm not sure after that, possibly oat milk.
I would not go for the organic type, as there are vitamins the non-organic is fortified with which are important for normal development.
Rice milk is not recommended until 5 because of the arsenic content I believe.

Any particular reason for avoiding cows milk, especially if you were using formula (as most formula is derived from cows milk)

I believe it is soy for protein content or almond for calcium. Oat has the highest carb of all

Kendamilk if you are ok with goat milk. Otherwise soy milk like Alpro growing up, oat milk such as oatly. Barista version is creamy n has a few more kj than others. Others like nut milk are mostly water so not so great for a growing one. It's a bit hard. I struggled to find a suitable one as he couldn't do goat and I was cautious of soy/estrogen effect (I don't mind and still give him occasional soy milk). Thankfully, his problem turned out to largely be lactose intolerance. Or so it seems (problem lingers a bit).

My son has a severe cows milk allergy. He's only 10mo so still BF and I'm going to try to BF for as long as I can. Currently use Oatly Barista for baking as it has a similar fat content to cows milk. Will offer him this to drink once he's older.
I've heard hemp milk is good too but we have Oatly in the house as it tastes lovely.

Alpro growing up milk
Oatley barista or their blue Whole milk
Asda own oat milk
are all good choices and forfeited with calcium, iron and iodine.

We use lactose free milk (intolerance not allergy) at home and she had oatmilk at nursery.
