Does your child have a favourite stuffed toy? What is it & how old were they when they started having a fav toy?
My 18month old loved Bing for a while but seems to have gone off him now.

DD8 has a butterfly from Sainsbury's. Adopted around 18months. DS5 has a jellycat dinosaur. He's slept with it every night from birth. DSnearly2 has a jellycat lobster (Don't ask!) Which he stole from me on holiday about 6 weeks ago! I always said my kids wouldn't have special teddies but they seem to have ignored me 😁

Rainbowsparklesdust1921 · 06/10/2020 14:12

@whoami24601 Awww they all sound so cute 😁 My ds does have a musical owl that he likes to sleep with but it's not. But it's not something he carries around everywhere & is completely attached to, if you know what I mean?

DS 18months doesn’t have any attachments to anything, not teddies or blankets etc. He always has a teddy with him in his cot or when we go out but he’s not fussed which one and loses interest after 5 minutes. Maybe it’ll change when he gets older!

TheFabledSnake · 06/10/2020 14:36

My 5 year old has Mr Giraffe. He's from Mothercare and she's had him since she was 6 months. He's her best friend although as she gets older she doesn't need him in the day but he must be with her at night. There are lots of other toys she gets briefly obsessed with but she always goes back to Mr G.

whoami24601 · 06/10/2020 15:06

None of mine carry theirs round all day with them. I did have a rule for a long time that they had to stay in bedrooms so there was no chance of them getting lost! Now they do make it downstairs from time to time but not too often. DD has never been bothered about having hers in bed but she does take it whenever she sleeps anywhere else. Mine have definitely been for sleep times and nothing else but I have been quite strict about that!

Rainbowsparklesdust1921 · 06/10/2020 15:49

@Abouttimemum aww maybe it will. Awww that's so cute @TheFabledSnake 😁 @whoami24601 that's a good rule. I bring down musical owl & Bing, as he has them for naps

we have a jellycat bunny - we have two and keep them on rotation. One stays at home and one goes to nursery so they get equal wear. hopefully this will save us when one inevitably goes missing!

Jellycat bunny is the favourite, along with a Jellycat bear she got as a baby

DD has Rainbow ted... A stripy bear from Argos.
DD2 has a giraffe. As toddler she called him Race, then it Mr G, then I turned into a female giraffe for a bit as she dressed I in a pink dress, and is now back to Mr G.... Who has been on several Beaver camps with her, had his own uniform and badges.ive been told he now neefs a Cub jumper.

RosieGirl27 · 07/10/2020 10:25

DS is 7 months old and he sleeps with a jelly cat bunny. I’m 23 and have a small teddy that I sleep with so I wonder where he gets it from.

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 07/10/2020 10:26

When DD started nursery at 12 months, she started carrying a little bunny with her everywhere she went. After a couple of months she also took a shine to a little duck toy. She gets a lot of comfort from them both. Though she doesn't need them all of the time.

Popsicle20 · 07/10/2020 21:11

My DD has a Cuddle & Kind doll. Expensive but beautiful and they donate meals to children in need to each doll you purchase. She is 3 now and it's the only thing she has ever really had a strong attachment to. Like I say expensive but if I hadn't wasted so much money on tat and bought that in the first person I probably would have saved in the long run x

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 07/10/2020 21:27

DS1 (16) has Donkey (15) who sleeps next to his pillow. Its one of those soft toys that help children learn how to do buttons, toggles, zips etc. He barely glanced at it until we suggested passing it down to DS2 when they were 1 and 3. Then it suddenly became his favourite toy and he wouldn't put it down Grin. As he was perfectly happy to share/pass down everything else I let him keep that one thing.

DS2 went through phases. He slept with a hard plastic Diesel from Thomas the Tank Engine for a year or so. Hmm Then he moved onto Molly Dolly which is actually mine. He's 13 now and isn't attached to any thing in particular. Although until recently he slept with approximately 3567899005323678 soft toys.

I still have a doll and a Teddy next to my bed. I got the Teddy the day I was born and the doll for my first birthday.

spacelilly · 07/10/2020 21:32

@Popsicle20 we have a cuddle & kind too, they are so lovely aren't they. Which one does your DD have?

Popsicle20 · 07/10/2020 22:37

@spacelilly they are absoloutly beautiful 😍

We have Ivy the Bear already and then we have Willow the Deer and Isla the Mermaid coming from Santa.

At first I thought it was going to be of those things that I really loved but DD wouldn't be that fussed with but she adores her Ivy, much more than any other teddy she has ever had.

Which do you have? There are so many I would like to get for her!

spacelilly · 07/10/2020 22:41

@Popsicle20 ah what a lucky little girl!

I was the same, I thought they were so beautiful and not sure if my little girl will end up loving it as much as I do 🙈

We have Stella and Henry and Hannah from Santa or maybe for her first birthday!
