Sheepskin footmuff - would you recommend?

I need to buy a footmuff for my pram now the weather is getting cold. I really like the look of sheepskin muffs, but are they too warm? I live in the south east so it does get quite cold in winter, but it’s not exactly the Arctic! Obviously I don’t want my baby (who is 6 months old) to overheat whilst in the pram.

Also, DD already has a fleecy winter coat - would she wear that in the footmuff during the winter months, or would that be too warm?

Does anyone have a sheepskin muff and would you recommend them?

The Fellhof ones looks good and fit my pram (Bugaboo Bee) according to the website.

Also, is she going to be too hot when we go into shops or restaurants? So many questions!

And how do you clean them?!

We had one, and I think they are brilliant.
Sheepskin is very breathable, and allows better temperature regulation, so actually less likely to overheat than with a synthetic one. My Dc loved it and slept much better and longer with it.

I would say you would still need a windproof coat for upper body, unless you are zipping the footmuff right up to the neck - my Dc preferred it up to the waist and hands free.
If they are lying down asleep with it up to their neck then no coat needed.

Cleaning you can use a wool detergent, and wash in machine on wool cycle. I always removed shoes, which keeps it cleaner - feet will stay nice and warm, even if they pull their socks off.

For going into shops, just unzip the front. You can zip it right off or just fold it out of the way. You can leave the bit you sit on in the buggy as a seat liner all year round, it's actually less sweaty than just having the pushchair.

We have the fellhof one for ds age 5 months. It’s lovely. We do live in a colder country, but atm the temperature is similar to uk. He currently goes out in it without a coat, just a thick cardigan and hat on top, and thick socks. He has a coat and a fleecy pram suit to wear as well when it’s freezing

It’s great as like yesterday I went shopping and when he was sleep outside, I could just unzip when we went into stores so he didn’t overheat instead of faffing taking thick coat off etc

Oh and bigger bonus he naps in pram better now indoors ( with top part unzipped obv), as it’s so cosy

Thanks - I think you’ve convinced me! They just look so cosy.
