Do you/Have you ever fallen asleep while looking after your DS/DD/DC?

Just wondering, DH came in and blasted me for having fallen asleep on the sofa earlier (everywhere safe and toddler-proof) and I told and friend who said she naps quite alot! DO you ever have a quickie nap?

I did once when DS was about 18 months old...I woke as he'd taken my glasses off me and was merrily twisting them into fancy shapes.

I sometimes will on the sofa and she is playing on the floor infront of me. I'm not sure i can do that so much now as she is getting a bit more mobile ( 9 months) and i worry about her getting into too much.

This morning, she woke up long before us, (06:00 ) and was in bed with us... i woke up got her some toys and she played in between us for a while happily, while we had a bit more sleep. then she got bored, and started pulling Dh's underarm hair, eyebrows and ears. then turned to me and started pulling my nipples and helping her self to a rather rough feed... when i opened my eyes she was kneeling on all fours feeding from me from a bit of a distance!!

So, she was put in her cot, with toys ( in our room still) and books, and we sent back to sleep she was very happy and i remember looking over at one point and she'd gone back to sleep! so I did... then, about an hour later, we were aware that we were being watched, and there was a very smily face looking at us... it was nearly 10:30!!!

are we very bad parents??? ... or maybe just very exhausted parents

Used to fall asleep propped up in bed with whichever one suckling still attached, usually woke up when their mouths lost suction with the little plop sound. Then shifted them to other side and promtly fell asleep again, to wake up 4 hours later with a stiff neck and gugling baby all snug and warm in my arms, under the quilt but my shoulders freezing.
Also made a point of napping whenever DS1 and DD1 were still afternoon napping. You need it.

Frequently.

But then I know I am a baaaaaaaaaaad parent .

To be fair, ds is now a (safe and healthy) 7 year old - and I always knew that wherever he had access to was safe.

sometimes very early in the morning i drift off on the couch while ds watches his cebeebies but i sleep very light and he usually starts bouncing on my head after two minutes anyway!

I sleep very lightly and do it in the mornings if they have me up early.
Not on purpose, I just drift off.
Normal play noise/TV is okay, but anything else and I wake up.
I am asleep but I can still hear them iyswim?
