How old should dd be before I remove window lock things that stop my sashes opening more than a few inches?

She is 5 now
I hate them in the summer I like having my windows wide open!

Clearly I can open the top of the sash but she in theory could open the bottom and leap out. She is not very adventurous or suicidal so I wouldn't imagine she would. What age do you reckon?

It depends on your dd - at 5 she should be sensible enough to be talked to about the dangers of open windows, but only you can judge that.

5 seems too young to me. My eldest is 6 and I won't take his off. Depends on the maturity of your child.

I think 5 is too young. I will probably be in a minority here, but I would wait for the kind of age when they are truly quite sensible and mature - perhaps close to 9 or 10.
