Very veiny head

Is this normal?? He is 8 weeks old and does have pale skin. Doctor mentioned they were prominant but said it was ok. My son had veins but not this many!
That is a birthmark btw .

I’ve certainly seen babies like that before. Newborns have much thinner skin than children and your little one doesn’t have much hair.

How does the other side of the head compare?

Its not as bad the other side. His head is in proportion to his body just when I looked it up online it comes out with some awful stuff .

I would get the doctor to check again if it has been a while since, especially if the other side of his head is different.

Hi @Jehh16 . This just flagged up in my emails. Nothing to worry about! When I look back on my post I feel silly for worrying about it. His hair grew over it and I guess skin thickens and don't notice it amymore :). A few months after I wrote it we was in hospital for a different issue and it wasn't of any concern when I did mention it. Photo to add of him now x

@Chloebobs aw great to hear!! I rang the doctor the other day about my little boys veins and showed him the picture and he said it was completely normal as none were protruding and his head was a normal shape xx

I know it’s been years since you posted this thread but it’s reassured me so much, so much so I’ve made an account to comment on it. I’ve been so worried about my daughter’s (10 weeks) veins and even though paeds and GP reassured me, it’s a relief to see such similar ones on a baby. I forget that their skin is just so thin. Thank you so much. Hope you’re little one is doing great :)
