Weaning should I be worried

I put a thread on a few weeks ago about weaning but can't seem to find it.

My little one has just turned 7 months old and I dread every meal time. I first started giving him about 6 ice cube of pureed veg which seemed to work. Now I've started to introduce 3 meals he just won't eat hardly any. Anything remotely lumpy or finger food he chucks it all up. A normal day goes like this

Breakfast - the tiniest bit of baby porridge he can just about stomach or is sick. I've tried weetabix and normal porridge, finger food wise I've tried omelette and toast

Dinner i will attempt to feed him pureed veg Ive made or ellas kitchen pouch with a bit of pureed veg. Normally half a pouch of eat

Tea as above

Some days he will wolf the whole lot down for one meal only. 99% of meals he will spit out or refuse to open his mouth. Smack the spoon out of my hand etc. He's still drinking 5 x 8oz bottles a day and is thriving. He's almost 10kg so he's a big lad

I stagger everything. Currently do something like this
5am - 8oz
7am - Wake up and top up about 4oz
8am - breakfast
1045 - 8oz
1200 - dinner
1445 - 8oz
1700 - tea
1900 - 8oz

Am I worrying over nothing. I'm convinced he's going to grow in to an 18 year old and only eat pureed veg haha

My health visitor told me to make him eat finger food or else I'll miss the boat and he will have problems later in life,

Thanks guys.

Thanks so much you guys. I've done exactly what you all suggested and baby is eating two meals a day!!. Breakfast is hit and miss so weve scrapped that and gone for lunch and tea and really lowered his milk. I cant believe I was expecting him to continue drinking all that milk and then eating 3 meals a day. Feel stupid now for not realising his milk will drop. Hes now having 5oz of milk in his bottles apart from his bedtime and 5am one. So hes literally loosing a bottle a day over the course of 24 hours. Thanks again x

need to work on finger food now but for now I'm going to get him used to eating more types of food and then offer some finger food next week. I gave him some ellas kitchen crisps and watched him like a hawk and he was fine. I knew he would be. X

Aw good! Glad it’s going well.

Have you tried grating food? Like grated cheese, we grated apple really thinly.

He hasn't even got the hang of food being something that makes hunger go away yet (nor will a little veg puree do that anyway). Don't cut the milk out, that's a lot of his nutrition

Stop worrying, if he takes something, great, if he doesn't, never mind.

DS never got anything pureed as I really could not be bothered. He gummed a few bits of what we had at meals. Hated porridge and wouldn't eat it.

Kind of got the hang of it around about 10 months and actually started eating some. Stopped milk in the day of his own accord by 18 mo (BF).

He only actually got something stuck once. He's now 3, growing like a weed with a good appetite and eats nearly everything offered. (or at least will try something).
