Hi,
I apologise in advance as this is a long one but I would really appreciate any words of wisdom on this problem Im having with my DS sleeping.
My DS is 28 months and always been a great sleeper. Around 1 month or so ago, he started climbing out his cot and falling on floor. So, we converted the cot to cot bed but he continously kept getting out of the bed. We tried to supernanny him and bedtime got better (not perfect but alot better) and he sometimes came through once or twice in the middle of the night but would go back to bed really easily.
However, in amongst all of this, I have had a baby 10 days ago and now my DS bedtime and sleep is truly awful. He SCREAMS going into bed, proper tantrum style. When I walk him back to bed he's now throwing himself on the floor. This then happens several times through the night.....my DH and I exhausted with this and a newborn (Honestly, the baby is easier!). He also now getting up an hour earlier.
I've started doing a rewards chart but its having zero impact.
I dont know what to do. Im not sure if he's jealous of the baby (he's never had more attention) or if there's something scaring him at night (u think he's anxious in case we have left him :()
I really don't know what to do. Is this just a phase? Do I just need to weather the storm? Or is there something I'm doing wrong? All I know is that we could all use a bit more sleep!
Thanks!
