Is my baby traumatised?

Hi everyone this may sound silly to some people. My MIL took my seven month old baby shopping today and on the way home they took they car through a car wash. Apparently DD was inconsolable through the car wash but okay once out. She’s been okay for the rest of the day but trying to put her down to sleep tonight her she’s been waking literally every minute screaming. Do you think the car wash has really effected her And that is what’s upsetting her and making her scream. When teething she’s never been this bad before. Even when cuddling her she will now settle. Anyone else had a similar experience

She'll be fine - DS screamed through his first haircut this morning like he was being tortured. It was very soon forgotten.

No, she's more likely overstimulated/overtired due to a busy day of new experiences! Or she has wind.

Is this your first baby? Grin

Have you ever met an adult who was irreversibly traumatised by going through a car wash as a baby?

I think she'll be ok.

AriettyHomily · 22/09/2020 20:44

Op have you seen the thread about PFB that's running at the minute? Grin

Honestly she won't be traumatised.

Fast90 · 22/09/2020 20:48

Is this thread a joke? Confused

Mummy2bePL · 22/09/2020 20:48

Okay maybe traumatised was the wrong choice of word. Thanks everyone for putting my mind at rest too.

I think you're more wondering if DD is having trouble settling because she had a scary experience earlier that she's remembering? Sorry, I don't have any experience of similar but Wine and Cake because I think you've been a bit misunderstood! Hope your DD is settling OK now.

I agree with the post above. I feel as though maybe OP has worded this wrong. I have no experience of this but I suppose it could be possible couldn’t it?

Kanaloa · 22/09/2020 21:05

I don’t think she will be traumatised. I think it’s more likely that she was already in a stressy mood before the carwash and is just having a generally rubbish mood. Maybe she’s getting a bug or something like that.

It can be scary seeing your baby get really worked up though, especially if you can’t tell what’s up with them.
