Rainy holiday activities with young toddler

Lockdown news pending, we're off to North West Cornwall next week with our 15 month old. Our plan was pretty much just to do lots of coastal and beach walks and enjoy the scenery, but the weather looks pretty appalling.

It's our first holiday as a family - any suggestions for how to make the most of the break but keep our toddler entertained?

Is it cruel to whack a mac on her and take her out in the carrier if it's raining?

Definitely not cruel to dress her appropriately and take her for a walk in the rain. My toddler requires exercising daily whatever the weather and loves going out in the rain.

Maybe try researching local pools as a back up?

How would you entertain her in the rain at home? She'll have new cupboards to rifle through and rooms to explore. My son loved blocks at that age, he could spend ages playing with them. At the moment he loves his train set, that's what I would take if we were travelling by car.

As the saying goes 'there"s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes'

Toddlers are like dogs in that respect - they need daily exercise come rain or shine!
