Would you ring NHS 111 for this or just give drink of water and keep an eye? Parenting fail this morning.

I would just give them a cup of water to wash the taste away.
I wouldn’t give it another thought.

DaphneFanshaw · 19/09/2020 09:02

Honestly, it’s hardly a parent fail.

Depends how much? But unless a huge quantity is just give them some water and keep an eye. Only like getting some soap in their mouth. But ring if you're worried. I had moments like that with my youngest, we all do.

No don’t need to ring.
Was it a whole bottle? 50ml? 100 ml?
Any irritation in the mouth? Swelling?
Breathing ok?
Any previous health issues or fit & healthy?

Plenty of water. Will be fine if no to the above and if it were a swig.

Can’t imagine they drank much, it will have tasted vile, also it’s a toy so will have non-toxic.
I really shouldn’t worry, just another parenting anecdote!

Grobagsforever · 19/09/2020 09:08

This is a complete non event, my kids did it many times. Try not to worry OP :)

It isn’t a problem.

if he vomits, which sometimes happens as it tastes disgusting and can upset the stomach, and then starts to cough, he will need seeing as very rarely as they vomit they can inhale bubbles. But it’s very rare, and you only need to do something if there’s coughing etc after vomiting..
