Prep for second baby in December

I wasn't sure where to put this so I hope this is appropriate.

I'm due baby no.2 in December . We have DS who will be 2.

Between it nearly being Christmas, Covid restrictions, possible panic buying or places being closed I'm wondering if there's things I should be doing to be prepared?

We're talking to DS about the baby. Nursery have had him helping with babies there as well. I'm also hoping to have the Christmas presents bought before baby arrives. I've bought mat pads in case I can't get any at the time.

Any other suggestions? There'll be the normal baby stuff complicated by Covid I suppose and Christmas I suppose but I'm not sure what else.

Can’t see what tbh- even at our first peak you could still access food, order from amazon etc...unlikely baby groups will be up and running but you may benefit that by the time you want to attend some your baby will be c3months and we will be coming out of winter. I’d say the only worry, and I say this as someone due her 2nd in November is that tighter restrictions mean restrictions at the birth. Things are continually changing so just keep touching base with your midwife. Our trust say partners from active labour and visiting hours on the ward but only partners, no siblings etc- some are saying no visitors on the wards. It’s continually changing

Thanks
I am hoping I can have my partner there for the whole labour and that's my major concern. I was sick a lot last time and trying to decide or advocate for myself when in pain and being sick won't be easy.
Everything nag else will hopefully just sort itself.

We many places likely closed for easy entertainment for eldest or visitors maybe restricted to help, maybe invest in a few more things to keep him easily entertained at home?

If you have a garden some waterproofs for him, basic garden slide, some big cars or diggers he can use outside. Even a sandpit works well in winter with warm clothes and waterproofs on. He can then be entertained safely and hour, and baby wrapped your and pushed around garden to snooze. Get yourself a chair in garden with cushion to add and blanket if cold.

Some indoor easy toys for 2 year old that he can do himself, and aren’t too messy if your busy.

Easy foods to grab from freezer

We have recently had our first baby during lockdown, but he is our first so he doesn’t care about the world chaos right now, but we have no older sibling to entertain either which must be tricky.

One thing we did struggle with was getting him bigger clothes. We bought newborn and 0-3 before, but he was long and needed 3-6 quite early on, but many stores had sold out or weren’t open still so choice was limited. You might have some already from elder child though
