I have an 18 month old baby & split up from partner 16 months ago cause there was a lot of disagreement with my partner & family. I dont want to hurt both sides so I left to deal with it myself. Do u think that was a good idea. I would love to hear people's views cause I am so confused

Whether it was a good idea or not depends on the specific circumstances lozzawoo, and I guess the fact you've posted here means you're not sure. It must have seemed like the right thing to do at the time for you and your baby. Are you hoping to reconcile with your partner and family?

16 months is a long time to leave before trying to reconcile things.

Agree with spacemonkey - it really depends on the details of the situation - there is no generic answer.

I get on with my ex partner & family but it is just best to see them apart. This is not good for my son but at least it will stop all the arguing thats why I decided to do it alone. There r times when it would be nice to be a family again but there r too many complications

lozzawoo
this might be a bit late but i just read this thread. Basically it is up to you to decide do you love your partner and are you ready to sacrifice your happiness for the sake of your family who are not with you 24/7. do they help you pay your bills and lookafter your children and would they do the same thing if the tables were turned.
Or has your partner done something that is really unforgivable?

Hi Shalom!

They all just seem to not get on & when I lived with my partner he never helped anyway with the my son. I felt as if I was living on my own so that's what I did. I just want my son to grow up with no worries & have a great life. R u in the same position???
