How can I get things done round the house? Routine please!

I have 3 DCs, and I thought it would be easier now 2 are back at school. I'm home all day but can get nothing done. Any tips please?

Currently we all get up at 630 and are out the door to school by 815. After that DS3 and I will come home at 9ish and play, 10am go to the park or baby group 1130ish have lunch. 1230 attempt to get toddler to nap. 130 have a very quick tidy round the house 2.15 school run. 4.00 play with all DCs, dinner, homework or clubs. 6.30 OH comes home and has dinner 7-8ish - bedtime routine. 9pm quick tidy round and bed.

I'm managing to do washing up, wash and dry clothes. Possibly quick hoover round every couple of days but the 'maintenance' clean is not enough.

Any tips or hacks please? Doesn't help toddler will go round undoing everything I've just tidied!

Is there something I'm missing? Thanks

Split the chores with DP, or have him watch kids at weekend so you can clean.

I basically do washing up and wash clothes. I run the hoover round every couple of days which toddler loves. That’s all I do really and I don’t worry about it. DH gives the bathroom a once over at the weekend and keeps on top of the cooker top. We wipe benches etc as we go. DH or I will only do essential ironing once a fortnight.
Honestly I’ll never look back on my life and wish I’d done more housework.
As long as it’s tidy and surface clean I’m not fussed.
Appreciate it’s much harder with three kids!!

I try to get one household job done per day and not put too much pressure on myself. Today for example I cleaned the bathroom (took half an hour) while ds napped. That was the 'main job', the rest has just been stuff I do every day e.g make the beds or just quick little jobs that don't take long e.g water house plants.

I only hoover once a week and honestly the house looks fine.

I also agree with the poster who said your dp /dh should be helping. My fiancé works shifts so he's not always around in the evenings but when he is he always takes ds for a pre-bedtime walk / quick park trip and it gives me a 30-40 minute chunk of time to get stuff done.

I also have a schedule on the kitchen notice board to help me keep on top of things and I live my life by my diary!

Agree, housework isn't the main priority - but weve been saying this for about 8 years now so you can imagine....

OH does help, but so has work to do once kids are in bed so its limited.

I try and multi task like wash up whilst cooking dinner, but its notbeasy with a toddler and DC3 often doesnt nap now.

I feel worse because when we go to someone's house it's usually pretty tidy but my eldest DC will come home and say why is our house so messy which makes me feel rubbish

Not sure if there are any hacks I'm missing?

How old are dc 1 and 2? Could they be doing chores / helping out?
