Hi
I have one DS who is 3 months and I really struggle winding him. He never burps but always breaks wind when DH winds him but never seems to trump when I wind him
Any advice greatly appreciated
Emily

I found over the shoulder worked for me (had a non sicky baby though) and then lying baby flat and doing bicycle legs and moving legs up and down generally got the farts out.

My daughters hardly ever burped! Some kids don't really need it. You can try a bit but don't make a huge fuss about it. Does your child have issues like reflux or colic? By your post it doesn't seem so.

For lower gas we always found that laying the baby down and playing with the legs is the best way. Hold the ankles and push in the tummy with their knees. Do bicycle, stretch/bend, round and round to the right. Make it fun. You can press hard!

You could try "the magic hold" you lay the baby across an arm using the palm of your hand to gently place pressure on the tummy.

I find it easiest to wind my baby with her lay with her head on my boobs and gently tapping her back. She struggles to burp which she infacol has helped with she's has a few colicky symptoms but isn't properly colicky.
