Milk feeds/weaning

sorry if this is really simple to others - please help me out.

My baby has all his feeds and naps set out daily which js a routine hes falling in to himself over the last few months. He will go to sleep between 7 and 730pm and wake around 4 for a feed, up for 7am. Feed at 730, 1130, 330, 630/700

HOWEVER - hes now started sleeping right through to 6 having a feed and then getting up between 7 and 730 and won't feed again till 9ish or maybe later which then puts all the rest of the feeds off for the day plus hes started weaning so trying to get his breakfast in and milk before his morning nap is really hard work. Yesterday he skipped breakfast and had a little pot of fruit around 1130 ish and then his bottle around 1230 when we got home.

Am i just being thick or is there an easier way to do this. I suppose I just got comfy with the 4am feed.

Should i try and get him back to sleep at 6ish and not feed him.

Thank you

maybe count the 6am feed as the first feed and follow on 4 hourly from then? And then fit meals in around that. I did breakfast last when weaning as it made mornings too busy trying to cram everything in. Lunch was easier to work around

I was debating on giving up the breakfast and him having dinner and tea instead so I could try that. His naps worked perfectly around his feeds but not to worry ill shuffle all his day. I suppose I should get used to all these changes.

Thanks for your help

I wouldn't be too upset about not having to feed at 4am! I'd probably do milk at 6am and then breakfast at 7am. You'll find that the sleep pattern changes so you'll be juggling nap, milk and meals for a while yet. I found it much easier once we dropped bottles

He doesn’t need 3 meals a day until after 9 months so for now just give him lunch and dinner.

Couldntthinkofausername24 · 08/09/2020 12:09

He only has two meals a day. Breakfast and tea but yes i will try dinner and tea

For most children the first wake up period is the shortest which is why lots of parents don’t add in breakfast until last.

Okay dokey. Thank you for your advise.
