10 month ds and we're still waiting.

Sometimes dark newborn blue, sometimes hazel green, sometimes soft brown.

Apparently mine were a set hazel by 9 months and dh hazel brown almost from birth!

I was 3-4 before my eyes reached their final colour. At 1yo I had very clear blue eyes and even at 2yo they were still blue-ish.

DS1’s eyes didn’t fully settle into the hazel colour he ended up with until he was at school (so sometime after 5).

DivGirl · 07/09/2020 15:30

I'm not sure if DS' have settled yet and he's 2.5. From the front they look grey but from the side they're a golden colour. It's quite interesting.

Time will tell. He suits the stormy grey though.

DD5 had very blue eyes up up until last year they turned grey/green

Krazynights34 · 07/09/2020 15:45

I always thought it happened quite early but my DD has very dark blue/dark grey eyes (like me) with a speck of gold at the Iris. Now the gold is more prominent and her eyes look green/grey - (she’s 3), so more like my husband’s eyes.

What was the final colour?

I think everyone is different. My first born was born with eyes almost black and they stayed that way. My ds was born with dark blue eyes. They stayed a dark blue grey for a while. And they looked quite dark to me. Suddenly in the last couple years they definitely lightened up. Or perhaps it happened slowly and I didn’t notice. But he has these beautiful light blue green grey eyes. But light eyes you see and notice from far. My third dc had eyes that changed the first few months. She had that newborn clear dark grey eyes and now they are brownish green. They appear olive green sometimes but are mainly brown.

PickAChew · 07/09/2020 22:54

When they were about 7.

They both have greenish eyes and green often takes a long time to develop.

TigerQuoll · 07/09/2020 23:17

I had blue eyes all through my childhood like my dad, as a teenager they started going green like my mother's, now they're green with blue rings on the outside.

BobGalaxy · 07/09/2020 23:23

I've noticed in the last couple of days that 10 year old DS eyes look really green. They started off blue, last few years have been bluey/greeny/grey and now seem to be going light green.

Isol · 07/09/2020 23:24

My DS is four and I’m not sure they are settled into a colour. People do comment that they are unusual. Grey some days, green others. Never blue or brown.

managedmis · 07/09/2020 23:26

About 6 months with each

DramaAlpaca · 07/09/2020 23:29

Around six months with all three of mine.

Saisong · 07/09/2020 23:29

My 13yos eyes are always changing. Mine are very green and hers seemed to be trending that way, but just recently they are way more blue with hardly a hint of green unless in the right light. Who knows if they'll ever stop.

Alicenwonderland · 07/09/2020 23:31

My three boys had blue eyes until they were around 3 when they turned green. My daughter is the only one to keep her blue eyes, she's 6 now.

annlee3817 · 07/09/2020 23:34

My DD seems to have what I call mood eyes, sometimes blue, sometimes me re green, sometimes with flecks of hazel, my friends eyes are the same, whereas my own have always been a dark green from quite young

annlee3817 · 07/09/2020 23:34

That was meant to say sometimes blue green... She's five
