Head measurement

My premature baby is 30 weeks actual but 23 weeks corrected. She got her measurements today by the health visitor and her head was slightly big. It measures 44.1cm so slightly bigger than average and the length of her body is slightly smaller than average at 61cm (but me and dad are only 5'5.
Worried about this but can this be normal?

I remember during my design degree they told us about some research into average human dimensions that basically took several hundred people and gradually removed them if they weren't average by one or another measure... IIRC they ended up with one 'average' person!

People are all sorts of shapes and sizes. The centile charts are useful (up to a point) in recognising what's normal for the individual child and spotting if something massively changes for that child, but they definitely aren't intended as a measure of the expectation that everyone will be average. Please don't worry, OP.

Thank you. Just received a call from HV as she spoke to the GP. He is not overly concerned and she is coming out next week with proper measuring equipment to do a re-measure xx

My ds has a large head. The Dr looked at me and said she wasn't worried as she can see where he gets it from.. Then said I bet you have trouble getting hats! Luckily I'm not easily offended! On the plus side he does seem to be very intelligent for his age.
