I like to clear the worst of the mess with soft toilet tissue. Then with cotton wool pads and almond oil. DD (7m) never had rash.

Any help?

I think you can buy a pre-prepared solution that you dilute, but some cooled boiled water with a few drops of something like calendula/chamomile in would be just as nice.

just had a quick google and found cleaning solutions at babykind

and this MN thread
I've just been using plain water but I like the idea of cold chamomile tea.

Love the halloween name btw

I used to work in the cosmetics industry, making new producsts, such as shampoos and skin creams.

If you are making your own cleansers, you have to be mindful of the microbiological issues. Unpreserved products are very susceptible and can produce pathogens in a very short time span. If you are making your own formulas without preservatives, don't keep them for more than a couple of days, and try to store them in the fridge.

of late, for a poo, ive been stripping him, standing himin the bath and showerign him off with the handheld spray thingy... is quite effective, no need for soap usually and, um, hes screming a bit less now hes getting used to it

I used to use water for ds

i use baby lotion atm, which defeats the point of being eco-friendly I guess, but is very cheap!

NappiesLaGore · 07/10/2007 20:20

the eco-ness is a happy byproduct of cloth use for me... is his bloody temperamental skin on his tender little nether regions which made me go cloth.
