Fighting nappy change

20 months old and pining him down for nappies is a nightmare, then we have kicking and screaming! Once nappy's off we're fine but getting to that stage without a black eye is getting harder - any tips?

Have you tried nappy pants? That way doesn't need to lie down when you put them on.

This. The pull up pants type are so much easier to get on a fleeing toddler - leg in each hole and yank up as they scarper! We also did a lot of changes standing up at that point as well.

Nappy changes have been a battle since our 19mo was 6 months (when he could roll). We still have fights sometimes but sometimes it helps singing a song or giving him a toy or something of interest to play with (this morning he wanted the nappy cream - I made sure the top was firmly on).
We have nappy pants. They are great!

Yes I use pants 90% of the time but no good for poo nappies when I don't know what's going to fall out and I really need him to lie down to be cleaned up

Good to see you’ve tried pull ups, they made life sooooo much easier for me!

Other things that worked - disco ball shining lights onto the ceiling, or other projected lights. Singing to DD and telling her I would be finished by the end of the song (you have to be fast!). Making it a game “can you get on the mat before I count to 5”. Getting her to put a nappy on her doll first, then me doing hers. Getting her to lie down for “this little piggy” before doing the nappy, and doing it super fast after the tickle!

I used nappy pants 100% of the time including pooey nappies. Had DD stand at the coffee table with a cartoon on. I'd rip the sides of the nappy and lower it between her legs enough to pull out then begin wiping. I taught her to bend over and touch her toes so I could clean her properly.

To be honest this is what motivated me to potty train.

@SnuggyBuggy I've literally JUST bought a potty, I think we're all sick of nappies right about now 😂
