Baby only having four feeds a day

My 4 month old boy has three naps a day and sleeps from 7-7 approx, waking once at around 1am.

I’m struggling to fit in more than 4 feeds a day on this routine, because there just aren’t enough hours in the day! He’s getting around 800-850ml of formula milk per day.

I’m concerned because the formula box says 5-8 feeds a day is ideal for his age, and 180ml max per feed. But he’s getting four feeds and up to 210ml per feed (sometimes a bit more).

Is he being fed frequently enough and am I overstretching his little stomach with the big feeds?

He seems very happy on this routine but just wanted to check it’s okay...! I can’t really see how I’d fit in another feed, other than waking him in the night? Confused

Children are not all the same, try not to worry.

We all have access to so much information these days, the perfect size, weight, feeding habits, when they crawl, walk and talk. It is very easy to think their is something wrong because your child isn't average.

If a baby is hungry they will always let you know, no matter what time or how many times. If they are a healthy weight and feeding well that is the main thing.

Do you take him to get weighed every so often, if not it may put your mind at ease to see his weight is consistent and where it needs to be or get help if not.

Thanks Tacca - that's what I thought! His weight is average for his age and he seems to be progressing well, so I've no concerns there...

My FF baby only had four bottles a day and one overnight from about 8 weeks. She started sleeping through at 5 months so only had the four bottles. She never drained them and still maintained her centile.

I really wouldn't worry as long as he's healthy and gaining weight. The box is just a rough guide.
