Did your child get a fever with the 3rd dose of MenB vaccine?

My DS is coming up to his 1 year vaccinations. He got a fever of 38-39 with both doses of the MenB vaccine.

I'm just trying to work out what to expect with the 3rd lot. He'll be in childcare and I'll be back to full time work so it's going to be a bit trickier if he's poorly.

I'm really hoping you all respond and say that the 3rd dose is a doddle 🤞

My ds had his 1yr vaccs a few weeks ago. Actually the MenB was OK- no reaction afterwards like the 8 & 16wk ones.

However, the MMR kicked in day 5 and he had a fever for 4 nights. 2nd and 3rd night the worst with temp up to 40 (the heatwave didn't help). He was also very clingy and unsettled during the day.

Dd had here about 6 weeks ago. She wasn't poorly, just very unsettled and fussy.

Thanks, I appreciate the responses.

I did have a read about the MMR vaccine and saw that each bit can kick in at different points. So even when you think they've escaped with no fever/illness they still might get something.

I just want to be mentally prepared this time. I would never consider not vaccinating, but his fever really took me by surprise at each of the Men B vaccines.

So this time round we could well end up with the Men B reaction, and then even follow up fevers/illness from the MMR Sad.

@Seriously79 Did your DD have a reaction to Men B at the 8 and 16 week vaccines?

My DS got his last week and he got a fever of 38.1 and had a bit of a restless night but was absolutely fine after a bit of Calpol.

I seem to remember he was more upset after his first ones.

Dd was terrible after these jags. Slight temp but grumpy for weeks afterwards and I mean a good 6 weeks.

Yep 3rd lot were worst for us. So unhappy with himself and temp of 39.2! Did come down with calpol and lots of skin to skin.

I took Calpol to the appointment ready to give him a dose for the MenB but the nurse said not to bother, he'll be fine. She was right. He didn't get any temperature until day 5 with the MMR. He had bad reactions to MenB previously - within 3 hours screaming and burning up.

He also got a rash with MMR but didn't seem to bother him.

DS has a slight temp at 8/16 weeks but was fine after his one year jabs - we had a projectile vomit that evening and he was off his food for a couple of days but that's it.
