Struggling with dd behaviour

I really don't know what to do about her behaviour. She's just turned 6 and completely overreacts to things. She's over emotional and sensitive. If things don't go right for her she hits and scratches herself. Says she's stupid and nobody loves her.
It takes her ages to calm down from one of these outbursts.
At school she is doing brilliantly, no issues with behaviour at all.
On the other hand she is the most loving and funny little girl but she's draining me mentally.

Sounds like she might be ‘Highly Sensitive’ - not a bad thing at all 😊 Ds1 was similar at that age but he’s way less volatile now. Lots of cuddles and reassurance - and remember that she’s acting up at home because you’re her safe space. It’s exhausting but it won’t last forever.

Thank you for your response. Yes, it is exhausting but hopeful that it will get better as you have said.
It's the physically hurting herself that worries me the most I think.
