Early waking since potty trained

Hello

I'm not sure if this should go in this topic or the behaviour topic so bear with me...

My 2 1/2 dd has been potty trained for the last month or so and has picked it up really well give or take the few accident here or there, but she has taken to waking up outrageously early (for her!).

I'm not sure if this is because she is being woken by a full bladder or if its just because she's a toddler. The thing is she's just really grumpy in the mornings now as she's just too tired to do much and I don't really want to put her back to bed in the morning!

Has this happened to anyone else? I've read about lifting children in the night - what have other people done?

Thanks

We used to lift DS at around 10/11pm.
He was an outrageously early waker anyway (6am, still is) and it stopped him waking even earlier (5am ...)

So when you lift them do you just wake them up and sit them on the toilet - do they just know to go? How does it work?

DS used to be half awake ish and being a boy we could just prop him up and kind of push his tummy out (and therefore willie) over the toilet by putting your knee gently against his bottom ... then talk to him gently about doing a wee and he would do it.
Never had to lift DD (she is 3 and a half) so I don't know how it would work with a girl ...
