10 month old has been quiet fussy last two days. Her temperature is only 36.4 (forehead and ear) but last two days it's 37 degrees. She feels very hot. No sweating. Could this be teething? I can see sore gums. No other symptoms. She seems happy but randomly can get fussy. Was up all night trying to cool her down.

Not sure what to do? GP? Or not?

Have you given calpol and did it bring the temp down?

Kitkat05 · 23/08/2020 08:55

@katmarie thank you. I have and its still the same :(

In that case I would call the gp and ask their advice, better safe than sorry. I have a 10 month old and that is what I would do.

37 doesn't seem worryingly high to me. If she seems to be in pain or uncomfortable with the temp I would give calpol (and alternate with ibuprofen if temp gets very high), but if she seems happy enough but just a bit hot, I would just give cool drinks and open the window.

GrinchTastic · 23/08/2020 08:59

37 is a normal temperature

SqidgeBum · 23/08/2020 09:23

I wouldnt consider 37 a high temperature but if you are worried call 111. That's what they are there for.

Kitkat05 · 23/08/2020 09:25

@NannyR thank you. She seems happy and playing. I will just wait and see.

@SqidgeBum thank you. Maybe im over over worrying. I will continue to monitor it.

37 isn’t much of a fever so I wouldn’t worry.

Kitkat05 · 23/08/2020 09:27

Does anyone if this could happen because of teething? She has her two bottom and two top but never had this.

Oh ye it definitely could be teething. My DDs temp goes up to about 38 every time she is getting teeth.

Footlooseandfancy · 23/08/2020 09:44

I thought it was 38 for a high temp? I found with DD that the first few teeth came through easily but all the others were usually accompanied by more pain and grumpiness - pain relief and anesbol liquid is great (can't remember what age they can have it from though).
