So my LO is 8 weeks old, he was born at 37+6 by emergency csection due to his heart rate dropping.
I took him to the OOH earlier as he had projectile vomited and they sent us to the hospital which we have now been at for 12ish hours..
Basically on examining him they said he has a heart murmur now this has never been picked up before, is this normal?
He is my first and i worry so much Bear

Hi OP. My DS has a heart murmur it was picked up during an examination when he was a small baby (he was prem) . He had a follow up ultrasound and it’s what they call an innocent murmur and it’s totally fine, I actually have one aswell and my has never caused me any issues whatsoever (mine was only picked up by gp listening to my chest during a chest infection, I had a follow up scan and everything perfect) . Hope that reassures you x

Hey hun this can be completely normal and there are different levels of severity, it's likely they may do future ecgs to check things as most people naturally grow out of it.

I was born with quite a severe irregular heartbeat - I had to have alarms fitted to my bedding due to stopping breathing in my sleep, my mum had to learn to do CPR for babies/kids. Since about the age of 6 or so I've been completely fine. She blames me for her insomnia issues though lol.
