Would you consider this poo light coloured? **Sorry, pic**

My little girl is six months old and for a few weeks now, her first poo of the day is a bit lighter than normal (as shown in pic). She also gets a bit of mucus in her poo occasionally. Should I bother the HV with this, or does the colour look ok to you? I've heard that chalky/whitish can be a problem, but it's not really that light is it?

She is formula fed by the way, and only started solids a couple of days ago (so it's not to do with food).

I would consider that light coloured. If its persistant id be inclined to phone the GP.

I think it looks fine! All kinds of colours have come out of mine. Why do you think solids aren’t part of it, if she started a few days ago? Surely they would be?

I wouldn’t worry at all. Especially as you say it’s her first of the day - I’m assuming that means she’s having other colour poos at other times? If it was paler and always the same Pale shade then that would be concerning.

TheMichelinLady · 21/08/2020 10:26

@Merename it's been like it for a few weeks now intermittently, so before we started solids. It has increased though which is why I've started to worry about it. I think I will give the GP a ring. I feel like I've bothered them a lot recently but don't want to overlook anything.

I have a feeling I posted something similar when my dd was that age... she was totally fine. I’ll see if I can find it

PapercraftNinja · 21/08/2020 17:32

But definitely check with gp. Is she fine otherwise? Tummy soft etc

PapercraftNinja · 21/08/2020 17:33

Looking again it’s lighter coloured but not grey or anything, get it checked but sure it’s ok especially if she’s still having milk

MagnoliatheMagnificent · 21/08/2020 17:35

What colour is her poo for the rest of the day? Does she drink lots of milk? Is she putting on weight appropriately? Does she have any other health problems?
Ultimately if you're worried, discuss with your health visitor or GP. This could be nothing or a sign of something more serious.

Thanks everyone, I did contact the GP in the end. They were happy that it's nothing to worry about given that it's only intermittent and not actually white/grey. And yes she is an absolute piggy with her milk! Grin
