10 day old with Reflux

My 10 day old has been throwing up his feeds more or less since day 1. All he wants to do during the day is sleep and eat but the problem is he’s then really sick! He’s the same at night just instead of sleeping, he eats, throws up and then stares at you wondering why you look so unimpressed. We’ve tried to sit him up while he eats and after. Drs have given us gaviscon and been told infacol before every feed too. We just need him to stop being sick, it’s not nice for him or us 🙈. Does anyone have any advice please!?

Both of my children suffered with this. My daughter use to throw up down my husbands work shirts so regularly it was a running joke. Please dont worry - you may find you need more medicine than just gaviscon. Just go back to the Drs if it doesn't help. You will get through this.

No advice but my baby is 11 days old and has started being sick after the odd feeds especially at night but he is cluster feeding, so didn't want to run and read as this early stage is so hard.

Is the infacol helping at all?

Try and prop the cot mattress up and perhaps keep the baby at up right position in bouncy chair or something after feeds.

Hi. Both my babies had it. Are you sitting him really upright and for 15 mins afterwards? That’s my only suggestion if you’re already on, he might need omeprazole. How is he skin wise / poo wise, just make sure it’s not a milk allergy? Good luck, it’s bloody awful and hard work xx

Since the infacol we’ve touchwood only had a tiny little bit of spit up instead of the usual avalanche of sick we had been getting. I’m taking that as a win (for now). We cuddle him on our chest in the burping position for like 20 minutes after a feed before trying to put him down.
He doesn’t seem to have any issues poo wise, we’ve still been having dirty nappies and plenty of wet ones so I don’t think he’s getting dehydrated. Skin feels fine apart from around his ankles is a little dry but I just assumed that’s where he’s super wriggly and maybe his socks have been rubbing?
Think I’m going to persevere with the gaviscon in his feeds and the infacol each time we feed him and if he’s still bad next week re-phone the doctors and ask them to actually see him rather than a telephone consult.
Covid has really messed with everything!
Thank to you for all of your help

I was told infacol makes reflux worse....Confused
If it's working though I guess that's fine.
My friend had a sick baby and she had milk thickener which seemed to work.
