I just had my son and wondering when can I bath him? Can I put anything in the water as in Johnson's or anything and do I use anything to wash his hair or just water. Thank you

I wouldn't add anything to water at this age. For the first month or so I always went in the bath with my son and DH helped on the side. It just felt lovely to hold him there. My son had lots of hair but I just gentle wet it. Didn't use shampoo etc for a while

We had our DD last year and the midwife told us not the bathe her for a week, then to only use water. We still only use water most of the time, except when she's got suncream in her hair then we'll use some shampoo.

They don't really need anything at this stage, just a nice bath to relax them Smile

Just water. Last year youngest DD was bathed by the midwife at 24 hours old because she was being reluctant to feed.

I found baby baths just impossible so would put an inch or two in the big bath and lay the baby on a rubber mat in the bath. They absolutely loved it. No danger of me dropping them. I had two hands free. We used to use a bit of Johnson's baby bath in the water. She'd lie there for as long as possible.

They always had their longest sleep after the bath.
