milk storage pots and gaviscon

when preparing formula for the day out ....does anyone know of any reason I can't put gaviscon in with formula if they are both dry and just have them pre mixed to go in bottle later?

We are on dairy free formula so everything goes in when water is cooled anyway. So not an issue in terms of temp/timing.

Just wondered if anything would be activated if just dry but mixed?

Am not a qualified chemist so no idea of the reaction between two powders when mixed.

As a childcarer I would avoid mixing powders or liquids whenever practical. Mixing on preparation I would do if that is what the packaging or a GP has said to do.

Interested to hear from any scientists or medical professionals who know about mixing of powder products. Could they react, if say the container was exposed to heat, light, moisture.

My gut feeling is that it is low risk as the products when prepared can be mixed. However I would personally avoid mixing prior to preparation if I could avoid it.

Yeah I'd give it a try as you're only going to be storing the powders together.

What does the data sheet say? I have just been reading the Gaviscon Infant power data sheet and that says how it needs to be stored and prepared.

Speak to a pharmacist... do not do anything against what is in the data sheet without consulting medical professional.

Absolutely fine, we spoke to paeds/gp/pharmacist about it. They can be mixed and are mixed before prep anyway. It was the way we were advised to do it on the go!
