Constant sibling arguments

I have a 4 and a 6 year old. Very different characters.

They argue constantly. It’s usually follows a pattern of my 4 year old saying something mean (such as x is a poo poo head) and then my 6 year old screaming or lashing out. It’s actually similar to mine and my brothers relationship as children. I was the younger one prodding the beast and my brother exploded on cue.

Any suggestions on how to stop this.

I understand to a certain extent it’s normal...:but it the amount of arguments I can’t handle....feels like it’s all day every day and every activity and outing is ruined. One to one things are perfect but all together we just never seem to have a decent time.

I have exactly the same but three to stop arguing. If I'm not in the same room as them I need to send them to separate rooms. My youngest is a screamer and my lord it goes through you. Luckily when out and about they aren't to bad but the car journey alone makes me not want to go out with all of them half of the time.

@angelofthelight good to know it’s not just me. One of mine is a loud screamer and the other is very sensitive to loud noises ... it’s an awful mix.

I can’t imagine them being close as adults and that makes me sad.
