My 6 month old baby boy who I think is also attempting to speak new consonants , he when he's very happy and excited and smiles with a wide open mouth , he lets out a smile and sound with a wheezing sound.
Its like a wheezing like sound , but my baby seems not to be in distress.
My family is chilled and think I am being paranoid because the baby is happy and he's feeding well .
but I am really concerned about the new wheezing sound , because covid is also happening everywhere. although no one in my family is apparently infected .
do babies make such sounds when they learn how to speak ?

Contact your gp or 111.

Any strange breathing in a baby should be investigated, agree with calling 111

And in answer to your question, no it's not usual for them to make wheezing noises or other strange breathing noises when 'talking'

Could he have allergies and/or hay-fever? Obviously do get it checked out, but my 7 month old DS was doing similar last week, and also had streaming eyes and nose, and the GP said it was hay-fever and congestion. It cleared up in a couple of days but I wouldn't hesitate to contact them if it happens again.
